Description: More than ever, technology is enabling students to communicate freely with each other. In this workshop, one UofL faculty member will discuss how they took advantage of technology to maximize their most effective teaching practices. Emphasizing best practices in pedagogy, he will discuss the potential ways you can use technology such as Tegrity, Twitter, Facebook, and Blackboard to encourage active and collaborative learning, while also addressing the issues that come with using these different tools.
Objectives: Participants will
- discuss different types of technology that can be used to engage students in learning and dialogue,
- apply these ideas to their teaching context and practice,
- and examine the advantages and challenges these technologies present.
